Uniform

It is vital that the ‘young performer’ be groomed correctly and that appropriate attire is worn at all times.
This includes practice wear and correct footwear.
Hair should be neat, tied up and off the face.
For ballet lessons hair should be in a classical style i.e. French plaits or a bun.
In the interest of safety, jewellery is not permitted, with the exception of small stud earrings.


Saturday students - All genres:
ISTD Regulation Aqua skirted leotard (Please make sure that you purchase the correct size which should be tight fitting and not loose. Lycra stretches and should fit for some time.)
Pink Ballet socks
In the Winter months - Pink transition tights/Black cross-overs
PLEASE NOTE: leggings, woolly tights, jumpers WILL NOT be allowed in class.

Saturday students footwear:
Ballet:
Pre-Primary/Primary - Clean pink ballet shoes with elastics.
Grade 1 - Clean pink ballet shoes. Elastics are fine for class, but satin ballet shoes with ribbons will be expected for examinations. Thin pointe shoe ribbons are preferred and much easier to use.

Tap - Bloch 'Merry Jane' or the Bloch-2 tie, leather tap shoe.

Modern - Bare feet (transition tights have a hole in the bottom so can be rolled up between classes to avoid any need for changing.)

Ballet uniform - Grade 2-5:
ISTD Bluebell regulation leotard.
Pink transition tights.
Clean ballet shoes. Elastics are fine for class, but satin ballet shoes with ribbons will be expected for examinations. Thin pointe shoe ribbons are preferred and much easier to use.

Tap students who also attend Ballet on the same day should remain in their Ballet uniform. Transition tights should be rolled up with additional black hot pants over the top of their Ballet leotards.

Ballet uniform - Grade 6 and above:
Navy, wide strap, low back ISTD regulation leotard.
Pink seamless Ballet tights.
Clean ballet shoes. Elastics are fine for class, but satin ballet shoes with ribbons will be expected for examinations. Thin pointe shoe ribbons are preferred and much easier to use.

Grade 3 and above Modern/Bronze and above Jazz:
Black cotton lycra cross strap leotard.
Black cotton lycra footless tights.
During Summer months, plain black crop tops (with a small logo) and black cotton lycra hot pants, may be worn.
During Winter months, a tight fitting long sleeved black top may be worn over leotards.

Boys - Modern and Jazz:
Black shorts and tight fitting black t-shirt.

Musical Theatre:
Students should wear comfortable clothing. Track pants and T shirts are recommended.

Street:
Own loose fitting baggy clothing e.g. tracksuit bottoms, harems.
Clean trainers (you will NOT be allowed into class if these are muddy or dirty)

A2 Arts hoodies: Optional – For wearing to/from classes, festivals and events etc. NOT for wearing in class.
